Now in his third season as the Cerritos College women’s tennis head coach, Quinn Caldaron is looking to regroup the 2020 team in hopes of bringing the program back to the top. In his first season as the Cerritos College women’s tennis coach in 2018, Caldaron accomplished what no other school in California Community College tennis history has ever done. Not only did he lead the women’s team to the team dual championship, he coached both the singles and doubles champion in both women and men. He also led the team to a 25-1 record and South Coast Conference championship. His players also won both the conference singles a doubles tournament titles. Freshman Kseniia Prokopchuk won the state singles title and teamed with Lisa Suzuki for the doubles championship. Prokopchuk also became the first Cerritos College women’s athlete to be named the state’s Female Athlete of the Year.

In 2019, the shorthanded Falcons went just 3-9 on the year and failed to make the Southern California Regional Team Dual Championships. Caldaron has compiled a 28-10 (.737) overall record, and 7-5 (.583) in conference play. Sophomore Moa Lindstrom won the South Coast Conference singles championship and advanced to the quarterfinals at the CCCAA State Championships. She and doubles partner, Alba Gonzalez also reached the quarterfinals.

Prior to coming to Cerritos, Caldaron served as the head coach at Whittier College for two seasons and posted a 19-21 overall record, while going 8-10 in SCIAC matches, while placing fourth in the conference both years. In his second season (2016-17), they were ranked as high as #35 among Division III schools, which included wins over #24-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater and #31-ranked Trinity (CT) University.

Caldaron is a graduate of Cal Lutheran University, where he was an NCAA Division III All-American as a senior (2005), as well as an NCAA Division III National Singles Semifinalist. As a senior, he finished seventh in the National Singles Standings and was named the SCIAC Player of the Year and won the USTA Pacific Northwest Eden Sportsmanship Award in 2001.

Caldaron's coaching experience includes spending six years at Cal Lutheran University, where he was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Assistant Coach of the Year in 2012 while on the men's coaching staff.  Over the course of his career, Caldaron has coached players such as Marcos Giron (Division I National Champion; ranked as high as #238 in the world) and Claire Liu (who turned pro at 15 years old and ranked #249 in the world).
