Cerritos College Women’s Track & Field (2018): Won the CCCAA State Championship in the triple jump (12.803 meters), as well as the Southern California championship and South Coast Conference championship… Her distance also ranks third on the college’s top five list… It was the first time in her career that she competed in the triple jump… Qualified for the Southern California Prelims in the 100 meters (12.48) and 200 meters (26.49) after placing third in the conference championships in the 100 meters… Also competed in the 400 meters (1:07.39) and shot put (11.27 meters) during the season…..

Mater Dei HS: Ran a leg of the CIF DII champion 400-meter relay team as a senior… Helped the team come in second place in the team scoring two years in a row at the Orange County Championships… Posted personal best times in the 100 meters (12.4) and 200 meters (25.2), while also throwing the shot put (34’ ½”)… Qualified for the CIF Prelims and Orange County Championships in the shot put… Voted the team’s Most Valuable Player and received the All-Varsity Award her junior year… While on the basketball team, she was voted their MVP as a sophomore… Spent four years on the track and field team and three seasons on the basketball team…..

Personal: Most memorable moments were winning the CIF Championship in the 400-meter relay and qualifying for the State Championships, as well as when she turned in her other personal best marks… Is working on a minor in paralegal law… Would like to transfer the University of Georgia and aspires to be a criminal law attorney… Her uncles were on the football, soccer and basketball teams at Kennedy High and Mater Dei High, while her cousins Nylia and Najia Hudspeth were on two consecutive CCCAA State Championship teams with Cerritos and then transferred to UNLV, where they competed for two seasons… Hobbies include playing video games… Has two siblings – Leilani (10) and Nazim (9)… Is the daughter of Marcia Newell-Jones… Born in La Palma, CA on March 4, 1999…..
