W. Track & Field: Sprinters do well at meet

Over the weekend, the Cerritos College women's track and field team competed in the Aztec Invitational ar San Diego State University and picked up a pair of wins. The 4x400-meter relay team of Alia Scott (Vista HS), Kierra King (Long Beach Wilson HS), Kenyla Miles (Carson HS) and Mahlaya Salter (Diamond Ranch HS) recorded the fastest time of the day at 3:55.44. In the triple jump, freshman Justice Smith (Highland HS) cleared 11.74 meters, which was the best on the day.

In separate 100 meter races, King finished fourth with a time of 11.77, while Miles was clocked in 11.74, which put her in eighth place. Sophomore thrower Nanati Alailefaleula (Long Beach Millikan HS) also posted the second best shot put with her distance of 12.53 meters.

The Falcons are slated to compete in the UCLA Legends Invitational this weekend.
