With just two invitationals remaining for the South Coast Conference Prelims, the Cerritos College women's track and field team took part in the Triton Invitational at UC San Diego over the weekend. The team will compete in the Cal State Los Angeles Twilight Open on Thursday and then host the Cerritos Invitational on Friday.
Sophomore sprinters Alona Davis (Bellflower HS) and Elena Mack (El Camino Real Charter HS) did well in their individual races, while Mack ran one of the legs of the 4x400-meter relay. Davis posted a time of 12.27 in the 100 meters to finish in 16th place out of 59 entries, with Mack posting a 14th place time of 58.45 in the 400 meters with 43 competing in the event. In the 4x400-meter race, Mack was joined by KeeAnna McCauley (North Fort Myers, FL HS), Crystal Nguyen (Fountain Valley HS) and Jasmine Soto-Castro (Schurr HS) to post a ninth place time of 49.12.
