Volleyball: Cerritos defeated by Pasadena City

Facing the #9-ranked team in the state, the Cerritos College volleyball team fell victim to host Pasadena City College, 17-25, 11-25, 13-25 to drop to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in South Coast Conference play. The Falcons will close out the first round of conference play at 6:00 p.m. with a match at Los Angeles Harbor College. Earlier in the season, the Lancers (12-3, 6-0) snapped the 34-match conference winning streak by El Camino College.

In the loss, freshman Susan Suski (Cerritos HS) led the way with five kills, while sophomore Andrea Garrett (Cerritos HS) posted three blocks at the net. Freshman Aniga Aiono (Lakewood HS) recorded five kills in six attempts, dished out seven assists and recorded a pair of service aces.

The Falcons struggled against the Pasadena City serve, as they finished with night with 11 aces, while Noralia To'omalatai led them with five aces and a team-high 10 kills. As a team, the Lancers had nine different players with at least one kills, while they added 46 digs from the back row in the sweep.
