For the second match in a row, the Cerritos College volleyball team needed only three sets to post South Coast Conference wins. On Wednesday, the Falcons (7-9, 4-4) dispatched host Los Angeles Trade-Tech College 25-6, 25-17, 25-13 to even their conference record. The team will now host East Los Angeles College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cerritos held out their top hitter, freshman Jasmynne Roberts (Long Beach Poly HS), while they welcomed back sophomore libero Ashley Castro (Santa Fe HS), who missed the two previous matches.

Freshman Amanda Payne (Orange Lutheran HS) led the team with eight kills (zero errors) to go along with seven digs, while the Falcons earned 13 points on service aces. Freshman Nicole Spigner (La Mirada HS) accounted for seven of the aces, while she contributed five kills and eight digs in the win. Finishing with seven kills each were sophomore Chelsea James (La Mirada HS) and freshman Celesterial Edwards (Long Beach Poly HS), while Castro played as if she hadn't missed any time. Castro posted 26 digs, while the tandem of freshmen Michelle Barba (Downey HS) and Crissy Silavong (Katella HS) combined for 29 assists.
