In their penultimate match of the season, the Cerritos College volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Long Beach City College, 20-25, 20-25, 15-25 in a South Coast Conference match on Wednesday. The Falcons (9-13, 3-4) will close out their season hosting Los Angeles Harbor College at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Although it was a straight-set defeat, Cerritos engaged the second place Vikings (18-3, 6-1) in some long rallies that just didn't end the way they had hoped. Each time the Falcons were able to rally back into a set, LBCC was able to score the critical point and went on for the sweep.

Sophomore Monica Vega (South Gate HS) led the team with 11 kills and added seven digs, while sophomore Jasmine McNeal (Long Beach Poly HS) added six kills with no errors, along with three block assists and a solo block. Sophomore setter Lorinet Marquez (Cerritos HS/Providence, CA College) posted 22 assists, nine digs and three kills, with sophomore Rocio Rojo-Perez (Bellflower HS) contributing four kills, six digs and a pair of service aces.
