Still looking for their first win of the season, the Cerritos College volleyball team was swept by host Golden West College, 11-25, 12-25, 16-25 on Friday. The Falcons (0-4) will now travel to Irvine Valley College (3-0) next Wednesday for a 5:00 p.m. non-conference match. It will mark the first-ever father-daughter match-up, as Cerritos head coach Kari Pestolesi takes on Lasers head coach Tom Pestolesi.

In the loss to the Rustlers (2-3), the Falcons continued to struggle with their offensive attack, as they recorded a meager .114 hitting percentage, while they also registered six serve reception errors. Falling behind in each of the three sets, Cerritos was unable to get any kind of momentum going against Golden West.

Freshman Jody Suski (Cerritos HS) led the team with eight kills and three service aces on the day, while the team's lone sophomore, Daisy Segura (Cerritos HS) paced the team in assists (15) and digs (18). Freshman Cecilia Burroughs (Cabrillo HS) chipped in with six kills, while freshman Nataly Reynoso (Pioneer HS) added four kills and nine digs.
