Playing without their full starting lineup on Wednesday, the Cerritos College volleyball team suffered a straight set loss to host San Diego City College. The 20-25, 17-25, 22-25 loss was the fourth in a row for the Falcons, while the Knights improved to 9-3 on the season. The team will host their next four opponents, starting with a 6:00 p.m. South Coast Conference crossover match against Pasadena City College.

It was a close first set against San Diego City, who used their height at the net to counter the Falcons attack. After a second set where Cerritos fell behind early and wasn't able to bounce back, they regrouped in the third set. Looking to extend the match, Cerritos kept it close until the Knights were able to come away with the set and a sweep of the Falcons.

Freshman Alexia Torres (Downey HS) led the team with 10 kills, while the tandem of sophomores Jody Suski (Cerritos HS) and Nadia Arreaga (L.A.C.E.S. HS) contributed seven each. The Falcons played without setter Mirka Granoble (Downey HS), who missed the match due to an injury. Assuming the role of setter, freshman Lizbeth Vega (Paramount HS), concluded the match with 10 assists, while she rotated with Suski, who had 11 assists on the night. Sophomore Regan Stanton (Lakewood HS/Long Beach CC) led the back row with eight digs, with Arreaga and freshman Sierra Hernandez-Hardy (Bishop Amat HS) each checking in with five each.
