On Wednesday, the Cerritos College volleyball team was swept by 5th-ranked El Camino College, 16-25, 16-25, 14-26 in a South Coast Conference South Division match. The loss was the sixth in a row for the Falcons (5-14), who will return home on Friday for a 6:00 p.m. conference crossover match against Los Angeles Trade-Tech College.
In the loss to the Warriors, sophomore Jody Suski (Cerritos HS) pounded home 15 kills, while also recording six digs and two block assists. As a team, Cerritos had some success at the net with 10 block assists. Also showing effectiveness at the net was freshman Alexia Torres (Downey HS), who contributed six kills and added three blocking assists. Playing in the back row, sophomore Regan Stanton (Lakewood HS/Long Beach CC) led the team with 19 digs, with freshman setter Mirka Granoble (Downey HS) dishing out all 26 assists and finished with five digs.
