For the first time this season, the Cerritos College volleyball team recorded a win on the road. The Falcons (3-2), winners of two matches in a row, swept past host San Bernardino Valley College, 25-16, 25-11, 25-8 on Wednesday in a non-conference match. The team will now host Santa Ana College in a 5:00 p.m. non-conference match on Friday.

On the night, Cerritos hit a solid 36% at the net with sophomore Alexia Torres (Downey HS) leading the way. She slammed home 10 kills in 14 attempts without an error, while sophomore Sierra Hernandez-Hardy (Bishop Amat HS) converted nine of her 16 attempts and also did not commit an attack error.

Sophomore setter Mirka Granoble (Downey HS) did a fine job of putting the ball in a favorable position for the duo and ended the night with 27 assists and also added four digs. Excelling in the back row was sophomore libero Lizbeth Vega (Paramount HS), who recorded 16 digs, with freshman Marissa Reyna (Norwalk HS) recording 10 digs on the night. Sophomore Brooke Winquist (Carlsbad International School/Czechia) was also a threat at the night and posted eight kills in the win.
