Competing at the Fresno Invitational on Saturday morning, the Cerritos College women's cross country team finished in eight place. Running against 17 complete teams, the Falcons finished with 233 team points and just missed out on pulling ahead of seventh place Orange Coast College, who had 230 points. The team will run at Irivne Regional Park next Saturday in the SoCal Preview Meet.

With over 150 runners at Woodward Park, the team was led by freshman Rebecca Harris (Buena Park HS), whose time of 21:05.6 put her in 37th place overall. Just under nine seconds later, sophomore Adriana Velasco (Downey HS) completed the course in a time of 21:14.4, which locked her into 39th place on the day. The third Falcon runner to stay within a steady stream of finishers was freshman Sabrina Padilla (Montebello HS), who turned in a time of 21:20.5 to come in 42nd place.

There was a bit if a dropoff before the next Cerritos runner crossed the finish line, as freshman Gabrielle Mendoza (Schurr HS) finished :42 seconds later with a time of 21:47.8, which put her in 56th place. The final runner that completed the team scoring was freshman Katherine Batres (Schurr HS), who posted a 59th place time of 22:03.3.

As a team, Cerritos had 13 runners on the day, with sophomore Brianna Gill (La Serna HS; 22:09.9; 60th place) and freshman Raquel Hernandez (Downey HS; 22:14.9; 61st place) serving as the next two that finished.
