Competing in the South Coast Conference Championships on Friday, the Cerritos College women's cross country team finished in third place. Running the course at Mt. San Antonio College, the Falcons finished with 99 team points and trailed co-champions Los Angeles Harbor College and the host Mounties, who both recorded 31 team points. Next up for the team will be the Southern California Championships, which will take place at Central Park in Santa Clarita on November 3.

Running the three-mile course, the first Cerritos runner to cross the finish line was sophomore Rebecca Harris (Buena Park HS), who posted a time of 20:05.2 to finish in 14th place out of 63 total runners. A trio of Falcon runners accounted for the next five finishers, with the duo of freshman Alejandra De La O (Norwalk HS) and sophomore Giselle Burgos (El Rancho HS) taking 18th and 19th places, respectively. The tandem were :17 seconds apart, with De La O crossing the finish in a time of 20:15.8, with Burgos clocking in at 20:32.3.

The third member of that group was sophomore Tyler Simpson (Dominguez HS), who turned in a 22nd place time of 20:51.2, with freshman Jessica Ayala (Cabrillo HS) representing the fifth Cerritos runner to help provide the team's points. Her time of 21:46.2 put her in 29th place, while three other runners also competed and finished :36 seconds apart. Jaime Monaco (Long Beach Poly HS) turned in a time of 22:35.2 to finish in 40th place overall, with Gaby Mendoza (Schurr HS) the next finisher in a time of 22:41.3. As for Debora Lopez-Guzman (Gahr HS), her time of 23:11.9 put her in 44th place overall.
