Serving as the host of the South Coast Conference Championships, the Cerritos College women's cross country team placed fifth with 145 team points. The Falcons will also be hosting the South California Regional Championships at Don Knabe Regional Park next Friday.

The team was able to block their runners, but were well off the leader pack that saw Los Angeles Harbor College (28 team points) and Mt. San Antonio College (36 points) account for 10 of the first 14 finishers. Leading the way for Cerritos was freshman Grace Cervantes (Schurr HS), who posted a 24th overall place time of 20:48.9. The other four runners that helped comprise of the team score finished the 5K run within the next 1:16.

The duo of freshmen Vanessa Garcia (Whittier HS) and Aileen Dominguez (La Mirada HS) were the next two Falcons to cross the finish line. Garcia recorded a 30th place time of 21:30.3, with Dominguez checking in with a time of 21:37.0, which put her in 31st place overall. It was sophomore Debora Lopez-Guzman (Gahr HS) who represented the team's fourth finishers, as her time of 21:41.5 put her in 34th place. The final scoring runner was freshman Glenn Nance (Gardena HS), whose time of 22:04.2 put her in 38th place.

The Falcons had three other runners compete on the day and they consisted of Monica Bautista (El Rancho HS; 22:05.5; 39th place), Adrianna Martinez (California HS; 23:42.4; 48th place) and Karen Ruano (La Mirada HS; 26:52.2; 51st place).
