With three of the 12 schools competing at the Coyote Challenge in San Bernardino being four-year schools, the Cerritos College women's cross country team ended the day in 12th place with 348 team points. After taking next week off, the Falcons will host the Cerritos Falcons Invitational on October 4 and will be held at Don Knabe Regional Park.

The first Cerritos runner to complete the 5K course was Valeria Guerra (Warren HS), whose time of 20:13.7 put her in 82nd place out of 146 runners on the day. One minute later, Charlotte Barrera (El Rancho HS) posted a 108th place time of 21:13.3, with Yvonne Villalba (Los Alamitos HS) right behind with a clocking of 21:49.0, which put her in 111th place.

Next up for the Falcons was Xitlali Pulido (Whittier HS) with her 126th place time of 22:57.3, while Glenn Nance (Gardena HS) closed out the team scoring with a time of 24:31.7, which put her in 137th place overall. Also running on the day were Adrianna Martinez (California HS; 26:26.0; 140th place), Lizbeth Campechano (27:24.9; 141st place), Tyshay Johnson (27:28.5; 142nd place) and Alayjah Johnson (Opportunities for Learning HS; 31:46.4; 146th place).
