Hosting the Cerritos Invitational at Don Knabe Regional Park, the Cerritos College women's cross country team finished in fifth place with 104 team points. Next up for the team is the Brubaker Invitational next Saturday, which will take place at Irvine Regional Park.

Of the 71 runners in the 5K race, Yvonne Villalba (Los Alamitos HS) was the first to complete the course with a time of 20:49.45, which put her in 22nd overall. Almost a minute later, it was Charlotte Barrera (El Rancho HS), who recorded a 21:45.1 time, putting her in 32nd place overall. She held off teammates Valeria Guerra (Warren HS), who turned in a 36th place time of 22:08.13, with Xitlali Pulido (Whittier HS) posting a time of 22:52.21, which nabbed her a 39th place finish.

Not far behind was Glenn Nance (Gardena HS), who crossed the finish line in a time of 23:17.30, good for 42nd place, while Tyshay Johnson (Long Beach Jordan HS) rounded out the team scoring with a 57th place time of 26:02.32. Rounding out the competitors on the day was Alayjah Johnson (Opportunities for Learning HS), who finished in 57th place overall in a time of 26:02.32.
