One of the anchors of the Cerritos College football offensive line, Noah Clasen, has signed with Texas A&M - Kingsville. He's the second offensive lineman to sign and 11th place from the 2019 Falcon team. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the college opted out of playing their 2020 season, although Clasen had already played his two seasons for the Falcons.
"I really like the coaches, and I think it is a very good program, both academically and athletically," said Clasen on his decision to sign with the Javelinas. "I feel my greatest strength are that I am constantly trying to improve both myself as a person, and as a player. I hope to inspire others to think and feel the same way as me."
Clasen had a slow start to his Falcon career (pictured, left during his freshman year). He was a red-shirt in 2016 and missed the 2017 season due to an injury. He battled back in 2018 and started at guard. He was instrumental in the team averaging 259 yards a game on the ground that season. Looking to continue his progression as a solid pass blocker, Clasen saw his year start late due to another injury. But he was able to return for the final six games, including the team's bowl win over Ventura College.
"Both of my injuries were difficult to come back from, especially getting both of them right before the season, but I was driven by my love of the game and my team," continued Clasen. "I wanted to come back bigger, stronger and faster than before to help my team out in any way I could. That push to make myself better really got me through the injuries, along of course, with all the help that was provided to me and the assistance of everyone on the Cerritos football team."
Clasen started his Cerritos career with his brother Asher, who was part of the Falcons in 2016-17. He transferred to Sacred Heart University, but there weren't any discussions of a reunion, as the younger brother chose to sign with the Texas school. Their father, Chris (1989-90), was an defensive lineman for the Falcons and then played at Chico State University.
The Javelinas are slated to play an abbreviated season in the spring of 2021, with Clasen expected to be part of that squad.
