Entering his sixth season on the coaching staff is Felipe Bernal, who will focus on technical strength with the team. Bernal is also currently the head coach at South East High, where he has spent the last 10 seasons and has a career 158-54-52 record, which includes winning a CIF Championship in 2011 and five league championships. Additionally, Bernal has coached at Morningside High boys’ team (1994-2000) and girls’ team (2001-05).

Bernal also has community college coaching experience and has spent time with South Coast Conference opponents Los Angeles Harbor College (2001-03 men; 2004-05 women) and East Los Angeles College (2009-12). From 2012-13, Bernal was the scout coach for LA Harbor.

Also coaching at the club level, Bernal is the head coach at Necaxa USA/FB All-Stars FC Under 8 team and was the Velocity FC Under 11 team last year, where they won the league title and received a promotion. He has also spent time as the coaching director for the Santa Fe Soccer Club and Club America Academy in Santa Ana.

Bernal played soccer at Morningside High (1989-91), as well for several local leagues – Liga Mexico, Liga Inglewood, Liga Lennox and Liga Simon Bolivar.
