In yet another meet, the Cerritos College men's track and field team took on some of the best universities on the West Coast. The Falcons, competing at the Jim Bush Legends Meet at UCLA, won one event and had seven top 10 finishes.

In the 400 meters, sophomore Daniel Stokes (Diamond Ranch HS/Mt. San Antonio College) posted the second fastest time in school history in winning the event and beating out 32 other entries. His time of 46.30 ranks him right behind Kelsey Caesar, who turned in a time of 45.90 in 2009. Teammate Christian Shakir-Ricks (Murrieta Mesa HS) took second place in the race with his time of 47.76. Turning in top 10 times in the 100 meters and 200 meters, sophomores Trevor Reid (Notre Dame HS/Mt. San Antonio College) and Kendall Turner (Hesperia HS/Mt. San Antonio College) impressed other schools with their times. Reid finished 10th our of 37 runners with a clocking of 10.89, while Turner was 10th our of 35 entries with his time of 21.78.

In the 110-HH, sophomore Victor Williams (Dorsey HS) placed seventh with his time of 14.65, which was off his personal best time of 14.40, with the 4x400-meter relay team closing out the day with a fifth place finish. The quartet of Shakir-Ricks, Stokes, Kavanaugh Maroney (Long Beach Wilson HS) and Kawika Jones (Green Valley, NV HS/Green River (WA) College) turned in a time of 3:15.12, with only one community college team posting a faster time.

In the long jump, freshman Titus Houston (Narbonne HS) leaped a distance of 7.08 meters, which was good enough for fourth place, with only a pair of UCLA athletes and one from Montana State University turning in a better mark.
