Running at Irvine regional Park in Orange on Friday, the Cerritos College men's cross country team finished in seventh place out of 17 colleges that competed. The Falcons compiled 205 team points on the day, with only eventual champion Mt. San Antonio College finishing ahead of them from schools within the South Coast Conference. Cerritos was just seven team points away from finishing in fifth place. The team will compete in the Highlander Invitational next Saturday at UC Riverside.

Running the four mile race, sophomore Pablo Calderon (Downey HS) turned in a terrific time of 21:11.9 to come in 11th place out of 187 total entries. There were four runners that all finished within four seconds of each other, with Calderon edged out of 10th place by .07 of a second. He was followed by freshman Antonio Calderon (La Mirada HS), whose time of 21:59.1 put him in 41st place overall and held off three other runners to secure that spot.

Next up for the Falcons was sophomore Alberto Serrano (St. John Bosco HS), who was clocked in 22:21.3 and placed 52nd overall, with sophomore Jaime Quinones (Downey HS) rounding out the team scoring with a 70th place time of 24:47.5 and was part of a small pack of runners.

Also running on the day for Cerritos were Daniel Alonzo (Artesia HS; 22:52.3; 73rd place), Jordy Mazariegos (La Mirada HS; 23:06.8; 85th place), Eliab Ruiz (Norwalk HS; 23:24.6; 94th place), Joe Munoz (Long Beach Jordan HS; 23:53.6; 111th place), Joshua Williams (Los Alamitos HS; 24:17.1; 121st place), Jarrian Harrison (Long Beach Wilson HS; 26:16.6; 150th place) and Dhruv Patel (Cypress HS; 26:47.5; 152nd place).
