Cerritos ends the season ranked #4 nationally

In a season where the Cerritos College women's soccer team won their first 22 games, the final national poll had the team ranked #4. The Falcons, who were ranked #1 for most of the season by the United Soccer Coaches, saw their season abruptly come to an end when they were eliminated from the Southern California Regional Playoffs in the 3rd Round on penalty kicks by San Bernardino Valley College. Cerritos concluded the season with a 22-0-1 record, with 20 shutouts and allowed just two goals all year.

Richland (TX) College, who won the NJCAA Division II championship, was named the National Champions. Back in 2015, when the Falcons won the state and national championship, they traveled the face Richland and posted a 2-1 win.

The Cerritos women's soccer program has been named the National Champions five times in their history and finished in second in the voting twice. In each of those seven seasons, Cerritos won the CCCAA State Championship, with their last coming in 2016. This season is also the third time a Falcon women's soccer team finished unbeaten, while the 22 wins marks the 13th season in a row the program has won more than 20 games.
