In their second competition in as many days, the Cerritos College women's swimming team took second place at the Palomar Pentathlon on Saturday. The Falcons compiled 429 team points on the day in the four-team event. They will now compete in the South Coast Conference Pentathlon on Friday at Pasadena City.

On the day, seven swimmers scored at least 20 team points for Cerritos, with freshmen Isabella Sierra (California HS) and Jackie Oliveros (Gahr HS) leading the way with 32 and 31 points, respectively. Sierra turned in a second place performance in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:22.67, while sophomore teammate Jenny Parra (Schurr HS) placed third in 1:28.40. In the 200-yard IM, Sierra was clocked in 2:44.17, which earned her fourth place in the event.

The best event of the day for Oliveros was the 100-yard backstroke, as she posted a third place time of 1:14.34, with freshman Elisa Prohroff (Schurr HS) taking third place in the 1000-yard freestyle, when she touched up in 12:15.14. Sixth place finishes by freshman Lindsay de Haas (Hacienda Heights Wilson HS) in the 100-yard butterfly (1:24.98) and sophomore Andrea Macapagal (Sonora HS) in the 50-yard freestyle (28.90) also helped the Falcons with their second place team finish.
