Cerritos College Women’s Track & Field (2018): Finished in 13th place in the heptathlon (2229 points) at the Southern California Championships after coming in seventh place at the South Coast Conference Championships… Season best marks included 200 meters (29.05), 800 meters (2:56.8), 100-meter HH (19.87), high jump (1.19 meters), long jump (4.28 meters) shot put (7.92 meters), discus (28.50 meters), hammer (26.42 meters) and javelin (22.06 meters)…..

Cerritos College Women’s Cross Country (2017): Finished the Fresno Invitational in a time of 27:16.6, which put her in 108th place, while her time of 23:52.40 at the Redlands Invitational landed her in 64th place…..

El Rancho HS: Received the Most Improved Field Athlete Award as a senior and earned the Blue Pride Award her sophomore season… Specialized in the 100 meters (15.04), 400 meters (1:13.54), discus (91’ 7”) and long jump (14’ 6”)… Helped the team win the Del Rio League championship as a sophomore… Was a member of the track and field and cross country teams…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when she turned in her personal best marks in the discus and long jump in a dual meet… Is working on a minor in psychology… Aspires to be a pediatric surgeon… Her cousin, Anissa Utrez is a member of the Mexican National softball team… Was named Seniorita Panama in 2018… Hobbies include singing and dancing… Nicknamed “Mika”… Has two siblings – Maliyan and Melani (13)… Is the daughter of Mario and Irene Vargas… Born in Phoenix, AZ on September 28, 1999…..
