After taking second place at the Southern California Championships last season, the Cerritos College women's track and field team regained the title this year. The Falcons compiled 166 team points to beat out host Riverside City College (130 team points) to win their sixth championship in the last eight years. The team will now send qualifying athletes to the CCCAA State Championships, which will be held at San Mateo College next weekend.

In their way to winning the championship, Cerritos posted six first place finishes, including freshman Kenyla Miles (Carson HS), who won the 100 meters with a time of 10.60, which just edged sophomore teammate Kierra King (Long Beach Wilson HS), who recorded a time of 10.62. The clocking by Miles moves her into a tie for the third best time in the event in school history right alongside King. In the 200 meters, King came away as the champion with her time of 23.99, while Miles had to settle for second place at 24.33. The two were joined by freshmen Mahlaya Salter (Diamond Ranch HS) and Alia Scott (Vista HS) to win the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 46.14. King also had time to win the long jump with a distance of 6.03 meters.

Freshman Justice Smith (Highland HS) moved closer to the school record in the triple jump with a Southern California Championship winning distance of 12.81. She is moving in on the record of 12.96, which was set by Juanita Webster in 2017.

Below listed in BOLD are the athletes who have advanced to the state championships. Because of A Standard marks and scratches, those entries could change, while others could be added.
