Results

Over the course of the two-day Cal State Los Angeles Invitational, the Cerritos College women's track and field team turned in some solid marks. Taking on four-year competition, the Falcons will continue get a chance to go up against universities, as they will take part in the Beach Invitational at Cal State Long Beach next Saturday.

By the end of the invitational, the Falcons turned in four Southern California Qualifying marks, with Aryianna Faircloth posting two of them. She turned in the 5th best time in school history in the 100 meters with a time of 11.86, which won the event. She made it a double-win, as she captured first place in the 200 meters with a clocking of 24.33, which automatically qualified her for the SoCal Prelims.

Faircloth also ran the second leg of the 1600-meter relay team that posted a B Standard time of 4:10.38, which was also the best of the day in the event. She teamed with Jazzmine Davis, Riyanna Jackson and Sophie Lopez to turn in that time. Davis also posted a SoCal Qualifying time in the 100-meter high hurdles, as her time of 14.58 put her in second place overall. She also came in second place in the 400-meter IH with a time of 1:09.83.

The final SoCal Quaalifying mark came from thrower Angelina Escobar, who won the discus with a distance of 41.12 meters. She was joined by teammate Faitalia Ah-Fook, who finished in third place at 33.76, while Ah-Fook posted a second place distance of 40.58 meters in the hammer. Escobar also competed in the hammer and was a close third place at 39.92 meters.

Faircloth was the second place finisher in the long jump with a distance of 5.18 meters, while Lopez ran a 1:02.32 in the 400 meters, which was good for third place.
