Competing against 11 other schools, the Cerritos College women's track and field team finished in fourth place on Saturday at the Sacramento State Invitational. As a team, the Falcons amassed 38 team points, which was more than the other six community colleges combined. The team will now continue their season at the Cal State Los Angeles Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The throwing events will take place at Cerritos College on Friday.
The highlight of the day was freshman Jourdan Murphy (Carson HS) winning the long jump when she recorded a distance of 5.45 meters. In the 100-meter HH, freshman Jazzmine Davis (El Camino Real Charter HS) posted the third best time at 14.51, while the 1600-meter relay team turned in a fourth place time of 4:14.71. That quartet consisted of Davis, Aryianna Faircloth (Magnolia HS), Isis Johnson (Bellflower HS) and Sophie Lopez (Fountain Valley HS).
