At the conclusion of the Southern California Prelims, the Cerritos College women's track and field is in first place with 26 team points. The Falcons, who won the 2019 Southern California Championship - which was the last completed season - have 26 team points and lead second place Cuesta College by one point. The Southern California Championships will be held next Friday at Moorpark College.
The Falcons picked up the majority of the points in the hammer, as they took the top two spots. Freshman Faitalia Ah-Fook easily won the event with a distance of 151' 6" (46.19 meters), which was eight feet further than freshman teammate Angelina Escobar, whose distance of 143' 8" (43.78 meters) was a foot better than the third place finisher. Escobar provided a team point with her eighth place showing in the shot put at 10.65 meters.
Cerritos also picked up seven team points in the heptathlon, as Jazzmine Davis finished third with 4123 points, while Michelle Campos placed eighth with 3581 points.
