In her second season as a member of the coaching staff, Alissa Brooks-Johnson placed sixth at the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon two years in a row, while she was a three-time PAC-12 Conference champion while at Washington State University. In addition, Brooks-Johnson has qualified for the USA National Team on two separate occasions. Her 5803 heptathlon point total during her sophomore year ranks fourth in Wazzu history, while her 4101 points in the pentathlon during her junior season is the third best in school history. She also spent one season as a volunteer assistant coach at Washington State.

A 12-time state champion at Pe Ell (WA) High in track and field and set school record in five different events. She was a four-time state 2B 300-meter hurdles champion, while also winning the 100-meters three times. 200-meters and long jump twice, as well as the triple jump once. In addition to track and field Brooks-Johnson was a member of the volleyball and basketball teams for four seasons. Named the league Most Valuable Player in volleyball two seasons in a row and was the Lewis County All-Area Co-Most Valuable Player as a senior. On the basketball court, she was a two-time 1st Team all-league selection and an All-State selection.

Brooks-Johnson, 25, earned her Bachelors degree in Sports Management; AMDT (apparel, merchandising, design and textile) from Washington State University in 2018. She is single and resides in Long Beach.
