Bryan Ramos has spent the last seven seasons as one the Falcons men’s and women’s cross country assistant coaches, while serving as the distance coach on the track and field teams for the last six years. In the fall, he guided the men’s cross country team to a 15th place at the CCCAA State Championships, as well as a 11th place finish at the Southern California Championships and fourth place finish at the South Coast Conference championship. On the women’s side, the team took 19th at the SoCal Championships and were fifth in the conference championships. In his first year, he helped the men’s team finish in ninth place at the state championships, while the women’s team came in fifth place.

In addition to his responsibilities with the cross country team, Ramos has also assisted on the track and field teams, and in 2013, he was honored by being named the California Community College Cross Country & Track Coaches Association Women’s Track & Field Assistant Coach of the Year.

Prior to coming to Cerritos, Ramos spent nine years helping coach the Glendale College women’s cross country team to three California Community College Athletic Association state championships (2007, 2009, and 2011) and five second place finishes. On the men’s side, they came in second place at the state championships in 2012 and finished in third in 2009. The women’s team also won the Western State Conference championship in each of his nine seasons, with the men capturing six titles.

As an athlete at Glendale College, Ramos was the co-captain of the cross country team that won the state championship in 1995. He moved on to Cal Poly Pomona, where he experienced a great deal of success. In his junior season, Ramos finished in 13th place at the NCAA Division II West Region Cross Country Championships, while the team won the championship. They also finished in third place at the NCAA Division II Championships. He followed that season by helping the team win the West Region championship and placed seventh as an individual. The Broncos also came in seventh place at the NCAA Division II Championships.

Ramos earned his Bachelor’s degree in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Cal Poly Pomona in 1999 and his Master’s degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University in 2010. Ramos, 43, is single and lives in Montrose.
