A former decathlete at Cerritos College, Jake Ostgaard will be starting his second season as a member of the coaching staff. In his freshman season in 2013, Ostgaard placed 15^th at the Southern California Championships in the decathlon, while winning the South Coast Conference title. He also came in fourth in the javelin at the conference championships. He then transferred to Cal State Fullerton, where he won the Big West Championship as a senior.

A graduate of La Mirada High, Ostgaard won the league championship in the 800 meters and helped his team win the league title.

Ostgaard, who owns a USATF Level 1 credential, earned his Bachelors degree in Sociology from Cal State Fullerton in 2017. Ostgaard, 27, is single and resides in Cerritos.
