Hitting on all cylinders, the Cerritos College volleyball team easily swept visiting Los Angeles Trade-Tech College 25-8, 25-11, 25-10 in a South Coast Conference match on Friday. The Falcons (4-5, 1-0) posted a .310 hitting percentage and added 15 service aces to earn their third win in a row. The team will now travel to East Los Angeles College for a 6:00 p.m. match on Wednesday.

It didn't take long for Cerritos to jump out early against the Lady Techsters (0-3, 0-1), and received multiple kills from eight different players on the night. In the first game, the Falcons led by scores of 10-1 and 20-4, while the second game took a few rotations before the team started to pull away and score points in bunches. The third set was more of the same, with Cerritos getting some distance and recorded the quick win.

Freshman Valerie Montoya (La Mirada HS) had six kills to lead the team, while freshman Sara Hickman (La Mirada HS) contributed five kills and three block assists. It was freshman Nicole Spigner (La Mirada HS) who recorded six service aces to go along with her five digs and three kills, with the setting duo of freshmen Crissy Silavong (Katella HS) and Michelle Barba (Downey HS) combining for 26 assists and eight digs. Freshmen Celesterial Edwards (Long Beach Poly HS) and Jasmynne Roberts (Long Beach Poly HS) joined sophomore Chelsea James (La Mirada HS) with four kills each in the win.
