In their penultimate match of the season, the Cerritos College volleyball team needed little more than an hour to dispatch host Los Angeles Trade-Tech College. The Falcons (16-10, 9-4), locked in a third place tie in the South Coast Conference, recorded a 25-8, 25-7, 25-12 decision on Friday. Next Wednesday, the team will close out their regular season with a 6:00 p.m. match against first place El Camino College in Torrance. In their first meeting, Cerritos was swept, but gave the Warriors a tough match.

Against LA Trade-Tech, the Falcons recorded just one attack error, while they posted 20 service aces. Leading the way was sophomore Valerie Montoya (La Mirada HS), who had six aces and added four kills. On the night, 12 players recorded at least one kill, with seven players producing at least one service ace.

Freshman Kayley Stephens (Cypress HS) led the team with five kills, with sophomore Nicole Spigner (La Mirada HS) also finishing with four kills and a pair of service aces. Freshman Chirstina Kennedy (Cabrillo HS) contributed four aces, with sophomore setter Natalie Caravantes (Baldwin Park HS) directing the offense with 23 assists to go along with three aces and three kills.
