Receiving kills from seven different players, the Cerritos College volleyball team swept past host Los Angeles Trade-Tech on Wednesday. The Falcons (6-6, 1-1) evened their record with a 25-23, 25-12, 25-11 South Coast Conference victory. The team will get a big test on Friday when they host rival Long Beach City College in a 6:00 p.m. conference match.

In the win over the Lady Techsters, freshman Grace Mendez (King City HS) led the team with eight kills, while sophomores Jasmine McNeal (Long Beach Poly HS) added seven kills, with Monica Vega (South Gate HS) and Nicole Flores (Firebaugh HS) each contributing six. After the Falcons pulled out a close first set, they breezed to a pair of easy wins to sweep past LA Trade-Tech.

Sophomore setter Lorinet Marquez (Cerritos HS/Providence (CA) University) dished out 24 assists and had 11 digs, with freshman Daisy Segura (Cerritos HS) leading the team with 20 digs from the back row. As a team, the Falcons had 68 digs and recorded 15 service aces, with Marquez and Segura leading the team with four each.
