Struggling through their toughest season in school history, the Cerritos College volleyball team had some good news on Wednesday, as they posted their first win of the season. The Falcons (1-15, 1-3) swept past Los Angeles Trade-Tech, 25-15, 25-23, 25-14 in a South Coast Conference South Division match. The team will continue their six-match road trip when they travel to Chaffey  College next Wednesday for a conference crossover match.

Using only one substitution for the match, the Falcons had one of their better hitting matches, as they recorded a .216 percentage, while they also kept rallies going with 45 digs against the Lady Techsters. The setting duties were split among three players, while all six of the starters posted at least two kills each. After winning the first set quite handily, they pulled out a close win in the second set and rode that momentum into the third, which resulted in the team's victory.

Both Daisy Segura (Cerritos HS) and Jody Suski (Cerritos HS) led the way with eight kills each, while Segura also paced the team with 10 assists and added nine digs. Freshman Nadia Arreaga (L.A.C.E.S. HS) had one of her best all-around matches with five kills, a team-leading 14 digs and three service aces. Freshman Nataly Reynoso (Pioneer HS) also contributed four kills, 11 digs and four assists.
