Running in the Brubaker Invitational at Irvine Regional Park, the Cerritos College women's cross country team finished in 10th place on the day. The Falcons compiled 233 team points and were just eight points away from moving ahead of ninth place College of the Desert. The team will compete in the Highlander Invitational next Saturday at 8:00 a.m. at UC Riverside.

Turning in the best time of the day for Cerritos was freshman Valeria Guerra (Warren HS), whose time of 21:26.4 put her in 31st place overall out of 107 total runners that completed the 5K course. Part of a pack of six runners that finished within 10 seconds of each other, Guerra was able to finish strong. It was nearly two minutes before the next Falcon crossed the finish line, as freshman Charlotte Barrera (El Rancho HS) posted a 61st place time of 23:18.6. She was followed closely by freshman Yvonne Villalba (Los Alamitos HS), as her clocking of 23:28.7 earned her a 64th place finish on the day.

Coming in 73rd place overall, freshman Xitlali Pulido (Whittier HS) was able to pull ahead of two runners at the finish to record a time of 24:11.1, with sophomore Glenn Nance (Gardena HS) the final scoring runners for the Falcons. She posted a time of 26:41.1 to place 91st overall.

Also running for Cerritos were freshmen Tyshay Johnson (Long Beach Jordan HS; 30:56.3; 104th place) and Alayjah Johnson (Opportunities for Learning HS; 32.17.0; 105th place).
