Led by freshman Lauren Berg (Fountain Valley HS), who finished in 10th place, the Cerritos College women's cross country team finished in eighth place overall with 231 team points. The Falcons, who came in fourth place at the Southern California Championships two weeks ago, were the fifth best Southern California team on Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno. Cerritos finished 40 points behind Cuesta College, who came in seventh place as a team.

Berg, who shaved :19 seconds off her course time from the first meet of the season, turned in a 3.1 mile time of 18:54.3, which was the sixth fastest SoCal time at the meet. Sitting in fourth place after the second mile, Berg dropped off a bit in the final leg of the race and was passed by five other runners by the time they crossed the finish line. The 10th place finish was the best for a Cerritos individual since 2015 when Maria Orosco and Marylu Pulido finished eighth and ninth, respectively that year.

The next Falcon to cross the finish line was Tracy Acevedo (Santa Fe HS), whose time of 20:33.9 put her in 62nd overall, and was edged out in less than a second by two other runners. Charlotte Barrera (El Rancho HS) was not far behind, as her time of 20:41.5 put her in 67th place overall, with Isabel Orosco (Schurr HS) four seconds back at 20:45.4, which earned her a 71st place out of 154 runners.

Also running in the race for Cerritos were Natalie Juarez (Norwalk HS), who was clocked in 21:02.8, putting her in 86th place, while Valeria Guerra (Warren HS) finished out the team scoring with a 103rd place time of 21:52.5. Rounding out the team was Maggie Quinones (Downey HS) with a 142nd place time of 25:22.7.
