Even though their South Coast Conference South Division season is completed, the Cerritos College men's basketball team is still looking to improve their position for the upcoming Southern California Regional Playoffs. Tri-champions of the South Division, The Falcons (17-9) were playing one of their two rescheduled games on Wednesday night, and posted a 78-66 win over host Mt. San Antonio College. The victory was also the fourth in a row for Cerritos. The team will close out their regular season on Friday when they travel to take on Palomar College. Wins in both of these games will improve their non-conference strength of schedule power points, as the Comets are also 17-9 on the year.

In the win over the Mounties (17-7), the duo of Juice Belvin (St. Anthony HS) and Jalen Shores (Lakewood HS) led the way with 17 points each, while Dorian Harris (Cerritos HS) pumped in 15 points. That trio accounted for all six of the Falcons three-pointers, with Shores hitting three of them. Belvin continued to play well since returning from an injury, as he led the team with nine rebounds and three assists, with Harris pulling down seven caroms.

Cerritos also received bench support from Andre Fields (Warren HS), who converted 4-of-5 field goals and finished with 10 points and four rebounds. Malik Johnson (Compton HS) also had a solid all-around game with his eight points, five rebounds and three steals.
