After the conclusion of their regular season, the Cerritos College men's basketball team has been seeded #10 for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Falcons (17-10) will be taking on one of the hottest teams in the state, East Los Angeles College, who was seeded #7. The Huskies (24-4) won the South Coast Conference North Division, while Cerritos was the co-champion of the South Coast Conference South Division.

This will also be the second meeting of the season between the two teams, with East LA posting a 75-69 win in the Falcons hope opener this year.

In that game, Cerritos trailed 37-30 at halftime. They started to get back in the game when sophomore Dorian Harris (Cerritos HS) started getting hot from outside. By the end of the game, Harris drained four three-pointers and finished with 13 points off the bench. Freshman Jalen Shores (Lakewood HS) led the team with 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting from off the bench, with the duo of sophomores Cerroy Chenault (Warren HS) and Andre Fields (Warren HS) each contributing 11 points. Chenault also had five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

As for the Huskies, they were paced by the trio of Jon Sanders, Bryan Penn-Johnson and Brandon Wilson, who combined for 38 points. Penn-Johnson and Wilson each pulled down six rebounds, while East LA ended up with four players accounting for six rebounds each. In three of their four losses, they were by a total of five points, while they haven't suffered a setback since a 101-99 overtime loss to Citrus College.

The winner of the game will advance to the 3rd Round on Saturday against an opponent yet to be determined.
