Through their first 21 games this season, the Cerritos College men's soccer team has won 19 times and tied twice, while winning the South Coast Conference Tournament. The reward for their success is the #1-seed for the upcoming Southern California Regional Playoffs, which start this week. The Falcons (19-0-2) will receive a bye in the first round and will face the winner of the #16-seed Bakersfield College against #17-seeded San Bernardino Valley College, which will take place on Wednesday. The second round will take place on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., with the Falcons serving as the host.

Earlier this season, Cerritos took on Bakersfield and the teams played to a 0-0 draw during a constant rain that impeded both team's chances to put a shot in the net. The Falcons outshot the Renegades, 23-4, with eight of those on goal. They defeated the Renegades, 4-1 last season in a non-conference game. Cerritos has not faced San Bernardino Valley this season, and haven't faced the Wolverines since a season-opening 7-0 win in 2008.

San Bernardino Valley finished the regular season with a 9-8-2 record and came in third place in the Inland Empire Conference, while Bakersfield won the Western State Conference South Division and enters the postseason with an 8-6-6 record.
