Cerritos College Men’s Cross Country (2022): Came in 132nd place at the Southern California Championships with a time of 23:15.1, while his time of 25:42.2 put him in 24th place at the South Coast Conference Championships… Turned in a time of 28:54.9 to come in 189th place at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational., with his time of 23:05.5 earning him an 87th place finish at the Manny Bautista Classic… Placed 10th at the Coach Downey Classic with a time of 23:26.0, while he took 134th place at the SoCal Preview Meet in a time of 24:04.9… Took 58th place in the Fresno Invitational in a time of 23:59.0, while his time of 24:55.0 at the Redlands Invitational earned him a 94th place finish…..

Lakewood HS: Earned a Scholar Athlete Award four years in a row… While on the track and field team, he was named his team’s Distance Runner of the Year… Specialized in the 800 meters (2:06.55), 1600 meters (4:38.84) and 3200 meters (10:35.52)… As a senior on the cross country team, he qualified for the CIF Championships and was named the Cross Country Runner of the Year… Posted a personal best time of 17:28 over a three-mile course… Was a CIF alternate as a sophomore… Spent four years on the cross country team and three with the track and field team…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he set a personal best time in the 1600 meters and helping the 1600-meter relay team at the league championships his senior year… Would like to transfer to Cal State Long Beach… Aspires to be a chemist… His father was on the track and field team in high school… Hobbies include hiking and backpacking… Has solved the Rubik’s cube… Nicknamed “Jeff”… Has one brother – William (13)… Is the son of Joe and Amber Chmiel… Born in Long Beach, CA on January 5, 2004…..
