A two-year starter on the Cerritos College softball team, second baseman Alyssa Sotelo (El Rancho HS) has been named 1st Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). NFCA California All-America athletes must be nominated by their NFCA-member head coaches and are voted for by the coaches in their region to receive this prestigious accolade.

Sotelo, also a 1st Team All-South Coast Conference selection this season, is currently batting .372, with 34 runs scored, 55 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, two home runs, 29 RBI and has stolen 17 bases. Additionally, she has struck out just five times in 159 plate appearances and has recorded a .970 fielding percentage. He has helped the Falcons come in second place in conference play, get seeded #4 for the Southern California Regional Playoffs and are set to compete in the Super Regional this weekend.

She's also the 15th All-American under the direction of head coach Kodee Murray and first since catcher Brianna Lopez was voted as an All-American in 2018.
