As the Cerritos College softball team prepares for their 2nd Round Southern California Regional Playoff series at Fullerton College, the team can boast that they have an All-American on their team. Sophomore outfielder Jazmine Macias (La Mirada HS), who has already been named 1st Team All-South Coast Conference, was just named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American team. It marks the second season in a row that a member of the Falcons earned All-American recognition (Alyssa Sotelo in 2023) and 15th in school history.

Macias, who leads the team in batting average (.423), runs (53), hits (59), doubles (16) and walks (27), broke the college's single-season stolen base record when she swiped her 49th and 50th base against Los Angeles Mission College in the first round of the playoffs. She currently ranks second in the state in thefts, although the state leader, Faith Epperson of Yuba College, had her season come to an end last weekend when her team was eliminated. Macias also shares the team lead in home runs with four and ranks fourth on the team with 30 RBI.

Committed to NAIA power Oregon Tech University, Macias has had at least one hit in 34 of the team's 42 games on the year and has only gone hitless in two consecutive games once. She's had multiple hits in 20 games this season, which includes two hits in five of the last six games. The only game she didn't collect a hit, Macias drew three walks and stole a pair of bases. Macias also had a two-home run, five-RBI game against Antelope Valley College, while she swiped a season-high four bases in two separate games.
