For the third time in the last seven seasons, the Cerritos College women's basketball team saw their season come to an end at the hands of Irvine Valley College. The Falcons (20-9), seeded #18 for the Southern California Regional Playoffs, suffered a 91-42 loss to the #2-seeded Lasers in the second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

The game started with Cerritos going just 1-for-6 from the field and committed seven turnovers. That was enough for Irvine Valley to jump out to an 18-2 lead and never look back. The Falcons struggled with their shot, as they converted just 30% of their field goals, while their 25 turnovers were converted to 30 Laser points.

The Falcons weren't able to slow down the Irvine Valley starters, who accounted for 66 points, with three players pulling down double-digit rebounds.

Freshman Cynthia Estrada (John Glenn HS) led Cerritos with 12 points off the bench, which included a pair of three-pointers. Their leading scorer, Ilani Avila (Downey HS), was limited to just five points and got off only nine shots on the night. Avila did lead the team with eight rebounds, with freshman Brianna Flores (Norwalk HS) posting eight points and four rebounds. The duo of freshmen Izabella Apodaca (La Serna HS) and Dominique Harrison (John Glenn HS) each added six points, while sophomore Therese Zekajj (Legacy HS) pulled down seven caroms.
