Cerritos College Track & Field (2012): Qualified for the South Coast Conference Finals in the javelin (31.51 meters) and hammer (37.24 meters)… Also competed in the shot put (10.40 meters) and discus (26.97 meters)…..

Carson HS: Missed his senior year due to an injury suffered in the City Championship football game against Crenshaw High… Posted a 5-0 record at 215 pounds and was 0-2 at heavyweight as a sophomore… While on the football team, he was a defensive lineman and was named the team’s Lineman of the Year as a sophomore… Spent one year on the wrestling team and three on the football team…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he picked off a pass and returned it for a touchdown to help beat rival Banning High in football… Followed that game by blocking a punt against Narbonne High… Is working on a minor in drama and would like to compete on a wrestling team at the four-year level… Aspires to be a doctor… His brother David (21) was a wide receiver, punt returner, kick returner and cornerback on the Navy football team… Likes to sleep in his spare time…Has one other sibling – Helayna (9)… Is the son of Payge Carnes… Born in Lakewood, CA on November 9, 1993…..
