Taking on Mt. San Antonio College for the second time in four days, the Cerritos College wrestling team came up short, 28-18 in their Southwest Conference match. The Falcons, who were also defeated by the Mounties in the Southern California Dual Team championship match, have suffered losses in their last three matches against Mt. SAC. The team will travel to Cuesta College on Saturday for the Meathead Movers Tournament.

The Falcons found themselves trailing, 22-0 after the first four matches and were un an uphill battle the entire night. Cerritos picked up their first win at 157 pounds when freshman Noah Zuniga (Trabuco Hills HS) recorded a major decision over Dylan Moreno, 18-4. Zuniga was able to take down Moreno five times in the match, which led him to the victory.

Freshman 184-pound Ben Setum (Pacifica HS) tarted a run of three straight Falcon wins to conclude the night by pinning Jeicatl Alonso in 3:30, although he was trailing, 7-1 at the time. After getting taken down early in the second period, Setum worked himself into a favorable position and pulled out the victory. It was a 25-5 technical fall for sophomore 197-pound Armando Sandoval (Los Alamitos HS), who led 8-1 after the first period and 15-2 through the second period.

Sophomore 285-pound Kobe Pablo (Cypress HS), who's ranked #1 in the state, used an early first period takedown over Dib Sawaya and carried that to victory. The two exchanged escape points in the second and third periods, respectively, but Pablo earned an extra point for the riding time he accumulated in the first period.
