Under the direction of new interim head coach Tessa Troglia, the Cerritos College women's soccer team got off to a slow start, as they dropped a 7-0 decision to host Saddleback College on Friday. The Falcons (0-1-0) will get a week to recover and look to rebound, as they travel to Chaffey College for a 2:00 p.m. match.

Clinging to a 1-0 deficit late in the first half, the Bobcats extended their lead to 3-0 with a pair of goals in the first three minures before the break. That seemed to affect the Falcons, as they surrendered four second half goals, including two in the first 20 minutes. Cerritos had no answer for Maliyah Medley, who accounted for four goals for Saddleback.

The Falcons were held to four shots on the day, with just two on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Anahi De Leon (Lynwood HS/East Los Angeles College) made seven saves for Cerritos.
