Freshman Meghan Legayada (Sunny Hills HS) scored her second goal of the season to help the Cerritos College women's soccer team post a 1-1 South Coast Conference tie against Los Angeles Harbor College on Tuesday. The draw keeps the Falcons unbeaten in conference action at 2-0-1, while they are now 3-6-1 on the season. On Friday, the team will travel to Los Angeles City College for a 4:00 p.m. conference match. The Cubs restarted their program after a 12-year absence.

Trailing 1-0 late in the first half, freshman Hailey Lopez (California HS) was able to feed Legayada with a perfect pass through the 18-yard box. In one motion, Legayada directed the shot through the outstretched arms of Seahawks (6-5-3, 1-1-1) goalkeeper Diana Ruvalcaba for the tying goal.

LA Harbor had several scoring chances in the second half, but sophomore goalkeeper Anahi De Leon (Lynwood HS/East Los Angeles College) stepped up and made four of her seven saves in the latter half. Maintaining her aggressive approach, De Leon came well out of her net multiple times to cover up the ball and also made a good save on a shot by Briannah Carrillo, who had the lone goal for the Seahawks.

Cerritos did have a great scoring chance in the 86th minute, but freshman Jazmin Mikhael (Hacienda Heights Wilson HS) missed the top corner of the net. Freshman Jaque Adame (North HS) also had an early game chance, but hit the outside of the net.
