With the South Coast Conference regular season behind them, the Cerritos College women's soccer team will now look forward to the conference tournament, which gets underway on Friday. The Falcons (5-9-2, 4-3-2), who were defeated by El Camino College, 4-1 in their finale, will travel to #4-seeded Long Beach City College on Friday in the first round of the tournament.

In the game against the Warriors, who clinched the SCC South Division title with the win, the Falcons had a seven-minute stretch where they couldn't stop their opponent. El Camino posted three goals in that seven-minute time period, which left Cerritos forced to play from behind against a team that was connecting their passes and controlling possession of the game.

Early in the second half, it looked as though the Falcons would get on the board when freshman Jaque Adame (North Torrance HS) drilled a shot that hit the crossbar. The ball came straight down and it was thought to have crossed the goal line, but was ruled out, which kept Cerritos off the board.

After the Warriors added their fourth goal, freshman Nadiah Palomares (East Los Angeles Performing Arts Magnet HS) picked up her first goal of the season when her laser shot from close to 30 yards out cleared the cross bar and landed in the upper corner for the team's only goal of the game.
