Trailing 1-0 for the majority of their South Coast Conference game against Pasadena City College on Friday, the Cerritos College women's soccer team was unable to come up with a shot on goal and suffered the defeat. The loss drops the Falcons to 3-10-0 overall and 3-3-0 in conference play. The team will travel to Mt. San Antonio College next Tuesday for a 7:00 p.m. game, which will be a homecoming for first-year Cerritos head coach Yvette Vascones and assistant coach Rachel Schmid, who were Mounties coaches last season.
The Lancers scored what would turn out to be the game-winning goal in the 13th minute and had multiple chances to add to their total. Had it not been for sophomore goalkeeper Victoria Ruiz (Applied Technology Center HS), who made 10 first half saves and 14 on the day, the outcome could have been a lot different.

Although Cerritos had nine shots on the day, none of them were on target, with sophomores Jaque Adame (North Torrance HS) and Giselle Ramirez (Smidt HS) each posting three on the day.
