Seeded #18 for their first Southern California Regional Playoffs since 2009, the Cerritos College volleyball team gave #15-seeded Bakersfield College all they could handle on Saturday night. The Falcons pushed the Renegades in each set, but came up short in a 20-25, 24-26, 23-25 match.

Leading at one point in each of the three sets, Cerritos was just unable to hold on, as Bakersfield used their size at the net to cause the team problems.

The Falcons did receive 12 kills each from sophomore Jayda Harris-Amete (La Mirada HS) and freshman Brisa Cortez (Schurr HS), with freshman Jasmine Soto (Schurr HS) contributing six kills and seven digs. Harris-Amete paced the team with 13 digs, while freshman setter Leeya Rubio (Schurr HS) directed the team with 33 assists and added three kills.
